Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong has called on muslims in the country to continue to promote peace and love.
He also felicitated with the Moslem Ummah on the occasion of this year’s Eid-El Kabir Sallah Celebration.
This was contained in press statement signed by Emmanuel Nanle , the director of press and public affairs to the governor and made available to newsmen in Jos yesterday.
The Governor commended the Moslem faithful for their prayers and religious observance in the last two months beginning with the Ramadan to the spiritual injunctions of exhibiting love in the last Ten Days leading to the Eid-El Kabir celebration.
The Governor stated that at no better time can the true Lessons of Brotherly Love, Sacrifice, Obedience and Submission to the Will of God, be better exemplified than at this trying moment of our Nations Economic Recession.
He enjoined all Moslem faithful and indeed all citizens of the Plateau to follow in the pious life of Prophet Ibrahim, who because of his obedience to sacrifice his son, was blessed beyond measure.
The Governor wished all Moslems a memorable Sallah Celebration and admonished them to be law abiding all through the period of festivity, while also assuring them that all have been put in place to guarantee a hitch free celebration.
