The Kwara House of Assembly on Wednesday confirmed the appointment of the new Clerk of the House, Alhaji Mohammed Katsina.
Reacting to a motion for the confirmation of the new Clerk was moved by the House Leader, Hon. Hassan Oyeleke, the Speaker, Dr. Ali Ahmad announced the official resumption of the new Clerk of the House.
The Speaker directed the Deputy Clerk to hand over copy of the constitution of the Federal republic of Nigeria and the Kwara State House of assembly rule to the new clerk.
The new Clerk was until this appointment was permanent Secretary in the state Ministry of Energy and he succeeded Mr. Simon Okedare who retired in September 2016.
Also during Wednesday plenary, the House fixed Thursday for the consideration of Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed’s request for the establishment of Kwara infrastructure development fund.
The House took decision after taking an explanation on the rationale behind the fund from two Commissioners and Officers of the infrastructure fund summoned by the House.
The House however expressed satisfaction with the explanation on the establishment of the fund and fixed Thursday for the consideration of Governor’s request.
