Osun govt warns citizens against open defecation

Osun State government is set to arrest and prosecute offending residents who are involved in the primitive act of defecating openly in the state.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Sanitation and Physical Planning, Architect Adewale Ojo gave the warning on Friday in Osogbo in a press statement made available to our Correspondent.

Architect Ojo further disclosed that relevant government agencies have been directed to swing into action and perform their duties in order to ensure that the people of the state conform with health and environmental regulations which are always in the best interest of all in the society.

The Permanent Secretary then enjoined all landlords and property owners to ensure that all buildings,structures and shops in the state have toilet facilities. This,according to him,will safeguard the health of all, guarantee healthy living and prevent unnecessary spending on purchase of drugs and curing of preventable diseases.
